I LOVE MY WHITE SOX!!!!
WHITE SOX GO TO WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!!
In May of 2004, I moved from Philadelphia to Chicago. I grew up in Philadelphia, so by default, I was a Phillies fan (and I still do love my Philly teams!). Now I was faced with a dilemma. Chicago has two baseball teams, which one do I choose? I live on the south side, but I worked at Northwestern Memorial Hospital downtown where most my peers lived on the north side. They were Cubs fans. One of my Yankees-fan friend also encouraged me to be a Cubs fan… because “cubs” are so adorable.
So really, one question is do I want to support the north side or the south side? North side: Lincoln Park, Gold Coast, Michigan Avenue, Oprah, rich and snobby people who go to fancy restaurants and clubs. South side: way more ghetto, my med school UIC, nothing much remarkable, more affordable housing, more down to earth people. Most important of all, the south side has my house and so I decided to give it my heart too. In May 2005, I made the decision. I’m a WHITE SOX FAN. And look at all the luck I’ve brought them, haha!
